Memoirs of a Style Mama| Fit & Flair Like a Southern Belle

BRING OUT THE SUNDRESSES AND BIG FLOPPY HATS. A SOUTHERN GIRLS ENSEMBLE WITH THE SUMMER GLOW BUT MAKE SURE THAT SUNDRESS COMPLEMENTS THAT STUNNING FIGURE.

Well ladies, it's time to be Summer Time Fine and enjoy our sundresses and maxi dresses. What woman doesn't have a good maxi dress/ sundress in their closet? They're comfortable, convenient and some are all purpose. However, I realized for my shape it can be a task to find a nice maxi dress that's complementary with my figure.

So this time, when I went to this last event, I needed my style to match the ambiance at The Big Hat Brunch. After trying so many dresses I realized that because my shape is more top heavy than bottom; a lot of maxi or sundresses don't work for me.

Most maxi dresses are A line and to give the illusion that my bottom is porpotionate to my double d's up top, I'd need more flare on the bottom.

Also because my waist is a FUPA... yes a FUPA (Fat Upper P*#^y Area), I need the high cut waist and flair to mask that belly. Hey, I'm being honest, disguisng imperfectiins don't necessarily mean I don't like my flaws, I just like them to look good.

So a nice "Fit and Flare" can come in handy. Its still comfortable and it's kind of flirty for the summer days.

This made me understand my body to know that everything thats trendy isn't necessarily for me. It may look cute but just not on me. So it's okay to find alternatives and embrace what brings out the best look for you.

Make sure you take what naturally enhances you when you shop. Try not to force it. I've come to terms that I'm not a sundress kind of girl and I'm okay with that too. Listen, you may wear something so well it becomes trendy, stylish and fashionable.
