I stumbled onto this theory (well I like to think of it as a message) when I was speaking on an old TikTok that I did about truly knowing yourself to be yourself. It made me refer to the topic on the first episode of Her Mind Is Beautiful podcast, which was about being afraid to change and what prevents us from making said changes. While discussing this topic it bought on my own theory or belief that, evolving from who we once were can be less frightening if we gain the perspective that who we were was based more on others perception of us than our own perception. Once you realize that the part of you you're letting go is who the world or people outside of you perceive you as.
It's my theory that who we believe we are comes from who others has defined us as from the time we were born. We then attach ourselves to their perception and make them our own, because as a adolescent or a child my concerns isn't about defining who I am. I'm simply being who I am. It's only when we lose our innocent, is when we lose who we are, in my opinion. When we're judge about being ourselves as children, such as: being too sensitive, too bossy, or too isolated just to name a few, is when we try to fit in this box of perception that the people around us has placed onto us. When we're young we're impressionable so we don't have the clarity that the perceptions of others has more to do with their own experiences, prejudices, and triggers than it has to do with seeing each other for who we really are.
To me, it makes more sense on why we find ourselves in these midlife crisis of either fighting off the perceptions or fighting harder to stay within the perception. So then here we are, in our adulthood, trying to figure out who we are because we never truly understood who that was.
Now, it's also my theory and belief that some of us actually know who we are, and knew it from the time we came into full consciousness and possibly have always had a level of consciousness about who we were. I believe that to be a gift within itself. These people may come off as difficult, rebellious, defiant, or even controversial because they don't bend or waiver to the societal norms or conformity. I believe these people are sent here to set the tone, a precedent of how to be confident in your authenticity. Maybe even them being an example for those who will have to journey to find their authenticity. These people may be the inspiration and the igniting of the fire that needs to light us within.
However, I do also believe that those of us who are here to find ourselves and go on this self discovery journey is a gift within as well. The gift to break the karmic patters, cycles, and generational curses. While some of us are sent here with the gift to inspire us to be our authentic true self, Some of us were sent here to be disruptors of the patterns, cycles, and curses of suppressing individuality and free thought. The new way of understanding the meaning of life, who we are, and what we're sent here to do and be. So not knowing who you are isn't a bad thing. It may very well be the thing that sets off a movement of new life, ideas, and perspectives. The very thing that challenges us, such as being challenged to break the cycles and the box we've been placed in, may indeed be our gift, strength.
What if what we see as challenging in life is what develops our gifts? No different than a psychic being challenged on whether or not she's insane or just has the gift of foreseeing the future. No different than a singer being challenged on their stage fright or being able to use their voice to move and evoke a feeling from the audience. My point is, maybe our biggest challenges is how we're able to discover or understand our gift.
One of my biggest challenges that I'm currently looking to overcome is to not try to define and perfect my life. I'm learning or challenging myself to go with the flow, be in the moment and allow the chips to fall where they may. What if overcoming those challenges I realize my gift is attracting whatever it is I put my mind to. What if I have the gift of mind bending or spiritual alchemy whenever I've concurred the ability of letting flow and being present (feminine energy)? Mind bending is simply being able to alter or influence your state of mind, and spiritual alchemy is the ability to transform yourself, which starts with your state of mind.
Some of us are missing out on our natural gifts because we aren't up for the challenge of honing or possessing them. However, just remember, we're never giving more than we can handle. If the challenge was placed on us or given to us, its for a reason. It's because the Most High KNOWS who you are and what you are capable of. The Most High is just waiting for us to see it too.
What are your thoughts? What are some of your biggest challenges you've faced or are facing? How were you able to overcome them? What strengths or gifts were you able to discover or develop?
PEACE & BLESSINGS
